Despite good intentions and underlying philosophies, "impact" has become more of a buzzword than a measurable metric. Most nonprofit organisations treat impact as a series of qualitative metrics, measuring what can be easily quantified—beneficiaries, percentages, rates. While these metrics can reflect progress and results, they are limited to what can be measured. This often leads to the problematic practice of quantifying immeasurable values, such as the cost of ocean pollution or deforestation. The structure of grants conditions organisations to measure outcomes without supporting the overarching intention to improve actual lives. As a result of this "Game of Numbers," human progress and the effectiveness of Funds in making a difference are hindered, despite pure intentions and significant contributions.
Deeply concerned about this state, we have set a strong intention and focused our expertise on opening a new dimension of impact, adding qualitative and systemic components to this term. Our goal is to empower and grow philanthropy by providing Funds with the tools to make decisive steps toward improving the state of the world. We are mastering an Impact framework that supports Funds on their journey to achieve true impact. By leveraging our expertise in systems, we add qualitative components and systemic values to obtain more holistic data and insights from philanthropic initiatives and projects.
